Leonard Cheshire Isle of Man is raising its profile thanks to a Celton Manx Recognition award which has funded new promotional material and information packs.
The award also provided for the charity to benefit from a Celton Manx social media masterclass.
Speaking at a reception held at Legislative Buildings to launch the new material and its skills development programme Can Do in the Island, Leonard Cheshire director Ireland and the Isle of Man Fiona McCabe said: ‘As an organisation dedicated to reaching out and supporting people with disabilities it’s important we connect with the community through tailored messages for service users, businesses and volunteers. Central to this is to have up-to-date promotional resources to ensure we’re able to provide the widest access to our services and engage with our stakeholders.
‘We can’t achieve this on our own, so we’re enormously grateful to Celton Manx for this Recognition award. It comes at an especially welcome time, as we are not only launching our Can Do programme for 16 to 35-year-olds with additional needs in the island but will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Leonard Cheshire Isle of Man in 2020.’
Celton Manx executive director Bill Mummery said: ‘At its heart Leonard Cheshire is about making lasting, transformational connections with the community, an objective which strongly mirrors that of our Recognition awards programme.
‘Leonard Cheshire Isle of Man is a prime example of an accomplished third sector organisation delivering cost-effective targeted care in the community services which are helping to create a more inclusive society. Celton Manx is therefore pleased to be supporting the charity’s ambitions to change the landscape for disabled people in the Isle of Man.’
