Celton Manx has confirmed its sponsorship of Castletown Hockey Club for the 2014-2015 season, its fifth consecutive year of support.
Club secretary Dani Kelly said: ‘We’re so pleased that Celton Manx has generously agreed to continue its sponsorship. That support is a huge help in our drive to develop the junior section which, largely thanks to them, has seen membership grow to around 50 since September of last year.
‘Sponsorship allows us to invest in more equipment and also buy new shirts, which the juniors appreciate as it strengthens their sense of “belonging” to the club. Importantly, having the support of Celton Manx means we’re able to develop our training and coaching facilities, and it’s been encouraging to see how many members in their 20s are now eager to serve as role models and pass on their skills to the juniors. In short, thanks to Celton Manx, we’re able to make hockey of a high standard accessible and affordable to more young people.’
Executive director Bill Mummery said: ‘Celton Manx aims to direct its investment in the community to where it can make a lasting contribution and expand opportunities for personal development.
‘Castletown Hockey Club does much to encourage young people to take up the sport by keeping membership costs down while never compromising on training standards and offering a truly professional coaching programme. We applaud the commitment of Dani and her team and are pleased to confirm our continued support.’
